Symbolic Body Art

Terms and Conditions

Last updated:

These terms apply when you use our website, send us an inquiry, book an appointment or get tattooed at Symbolic Body Art. Please read them before you book. By paying a deposit you agree to these terms.

1. Inquiries and quotes

• Sending an inquiry is free and does not commit you to anything.
• Prices shown on our website, ads and inquiry form are a guide. Full day sessions start from $1,500 and usually range from depending on the size and detail. Your final price will be confirmed with you before you book.
• We match each inquiry with the artist best suited to your idea, style and budget. Requests for a particular artist are welcome, subject to their availability.
• You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you are 18 or over.

2. Bookings and deposits

• A booking is only confirmed once your deposit has been paid. The deposit amount will be confirmed when you book.
• Your deposit is taken off the price of your final session.
• Deposits are non-refundable, because they cover the artist's time spent preparing your design and the appointment slot held for you.
• If you need to move your appointment, give us at least 48 hours' notice and we will move your deposit to a new date. Moving with less notice, or missing your appointment, may mean losing your deposit.
• If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, we may need to shorten or cancel your session, and the deposit may be lost.
• If we have to cancel or move your appointment, we will offer you a new date or a full refund of your deposit.

3. off offer

From time to time we may offer off to people who inquire through a specific offer page. Where this applies:

• The discount is off the price of your tattoo session, as confirmed in your quote.
• To claim it, you must book and pay your deposit within days of your inquiry. Your tattoo date itself can be later.
• Mention the offer code given to you when you book.
• One offer per person. It cannot be used with any other offer or discount and has no cash value.
• We may change or end the offer for new inquiries at any time. Anyone who has already inquired will still have their days to claim it.

4. Payment

• The balance is due on the day of your appointment, at the end of your session, unless agreed otherwise.
• For multi-session pieces, each session is paid for on the day.

5. Age, ID and health

• We do not tattoo anyone under 18. You must bring valid government-issued photo ID to your appointment. We will not tattoo you without it, even if you look over 18, and the deposit may be lost.
• You must complete and sign our consent form before your session, and tell us honestly about any medical conditions, allergies, medication, pregnancy or anything else that could affect your tattoo or healing.
• We will not tattoo anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• We may refuse or postpone a tattoo if we believe it is unsafe, for example because of broken or irritated skin, sunburn or a health concern.

6. Designs

• Custom designs are drawn for you and remain the artist's work. They may not be used by another artist without permission.
• If you send reference images, you confirm you are allowed to share them. We use references for inspiration and will not copy another artist's work.
• Our artists can turn down any design they are not comfortable creating, including anything offensive or a direct copy.

7. Photos

We may photograph or film your tattoo to use in our portfolio, on our website and on social media. Your face will not be shown without your permission. If you would rather your tattoo is not photographed or shared, just tell your artist.

8. Aftercare and touch-ups

• We will give you aftercare instructions. How your tattoo heals depends a lot on how you look after it, so please follow them carefully.
• If something does not heal as it should, contact us. Touch-ups are offered at your artist's discretion, depending on the cause.
• We are not responsible for problems caused by not following aftercare advice, sun exposure, picking, swimming or other activities during healing.

9. Our responsibility to you

• We will carry out your tattoo with reasonable care and skill, following professional hygiene standards and the health and licensing rules that apply to tattoo studios in our state and county.
• Tattooing is a skilled hand process on living skin. Small variations in line, shading and color are natural and are not a fault.
• To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the session concerned. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

10. Behavior in the studio

We want the studio to be a safe and comfortable space for everyone. We may end a session or refuse service to anyone who is abusive, aggressive or disrespectful to our team or other clients. Please keep guests to a minimum and agree this with us before your appointment.

11. Using our website

All content on this website, including photos of our work, belongs to Symbolic Body Art or our artists and may not be copied without permission. How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Text messages and calls

• By sending an inquiry you agree that we may contact you by phone, text and email about your inquiry and booking. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
• Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase.

13. General

• We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you pay your deposit applies to your booking.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the state where Symbolic Body Art is located, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of that state and county.
• If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
